OSHA inspectors are now surveying facilities. Are you Ready? Long-term care facilities have one of the highest occupational illness and injury rates in the United States. Employee tasks require considerable lifting and other strenuous physical labor. Historically, the injury rate for workers in these facilities is double the injury rate for all full-time workers in other occupations. Implementation of workplace safety and health programs is an essential factor in reducing the extent and severity of work-related injuries and illnesses. NMHCA/NMCAL and NMHCWCG(New Mexico Health Care Workers' Compensation Group) are teaming up to bring you the OSHA 10-Hour Training Program. Topics will include: • Introduction to OSHA • Walking and Working Surfaces • Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, and Fire Protection • Personal Protective Equipment • Hazard Communication • Materials Handling • Blood-borne Pathogens • Ergonomics • Safety and Health Programs • Fall Protection
The event is $250 for members and $350 for non-members. Register before November 9, 2019 and save $50 off your registration fee.
